This is perfect for the average home theatre system. The only problem I saw was when the cable box went through the receiver it created some pixilation when watching fast sporting events like football and hockey. So I just bypassed the Pioneer with HDMI from cable box straight to TV and ran optical from receiver to TV. The basic set up is pretty easy but some other features are more difficult to navigate through even with the manual.
